To date there have been 263 Milan derbies (264 if we include the 'Derby for Peace' played on 1 September 2002). The first was a friendly match played in Chiasso, Switzerland on 18 October 1908.
Little over 60 years later, another Madonnina derby was played abroad. As part of the City Tournament, the Nerazzurri battled it out with the Rossoneri at New York's Yankee Stadium on 29 June 1969.
AC Milan dominated derbies up until 1929, while during the 1960s the Great Inter side had its own way over their cross-city rivals.
In 32 of the 64 one-division Serie A championships, Inter have finished above the Rossoneri. That's without considering the two seasons AC Milan spent in the Serie B (1980/81 and 1982/83).
